  • ARRL Headquarters Special Representative:

    Katie Breen - W1KRB - is the Membership Manager. Although a "newbie" ham, she is a marketing specialist with a background in urban planning, Main Street programs, entrepreneurship & volunteerism. Oh, yes ... and golf! She was scheduled to be with us in 2007, but had a last-minute accident. She promises to make it here this year!
    In her keynote speech, Katie will tell us how she is reaching out with the latest technology to recruit a new generation to the hobby.

  • Again this year -- The 3900 Club Luncheon & Annual Meeting:

    Come meet your officers & discuss club business, including any issues you want to bring up. This is YOUR club -- we want you to take an active part in it.

  • Forums & Seminars:

    Dave Madsen - Station Manager of KTIV (Sioux City's NBC affiliate) & member of the National Assn. of Broadcasters DTV Speakers' Bureau - will be our featured presenter; he has the full story on the upcoming transition to digital television. TV stations will turn off analog transmitters 2/17/09 & only broadcast a digital signal. Millions risk losing TV reception altogether if they're not ready for this change. You will hear what digital television is all about & why it's important for consumers to understand how this change may affect them.
    Dave's also very involved in local service organizations & theater groups; you may remember him as the magician from our Hamboree 2005 banquet.
